Bradford Wedding

We were honored to be asked to photograph our close friends Tom and Barbara Bradford’s wedding, held at the picturesque Tapoco Lodge in Robbinsville North Carolina. It was a small outdoor wedding of around fifty close friends and family in a small clearing overlooking the Cheoah River.

It was a gorgeous clear sunny June day - perfect for a wedding and the perfect day for riding motorcycles. See, Tom and Barbara are some of our closest moto friends so naturally the day was filled with riding before any marrying could be done. Everyone wanted to ride with the star couple so there was a fairly large group that went out on a ride led by another of our friends Scott. He’s a human atlas and tends to get a bit… carried away. He’ll be out all day if you let him. He was conscious of the day's events though and everyone made it back well before the ceremony. In fact there was even enough time for Tom and I (Caleb) to sneak off for a quick ride while the ladies got ready. Though a short one, it’s a ride I’ll remember forever. Thank you Scott.

Tapoco Lodge venue is perfect for weddings of all types but this is especially the case for moto weddings. Not only is the lodge, in my somewhat biased opinion, located in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, it’s in the midst of some of the best motorcycling roads in the entire world, so it’s an easy choice for the moto-minded like us. In addition to the beautifully furnished cabins the lodge also has a restaurant and bar overlooking the river and exceedingly friendly and helpful staff.

As for the work, the photography was a cinch. An attractive couple with a genuine spark in a gorgeous location made it easy. The venue has nearly unlimited places to create beautiful wedding photos that I think Tom and Barb will cherish forever. We of course made it a point to get a few photos of the bride and groom riding the motorcycle.

We always have fun shooting adventure elopements and weddings but this one was perfect for us. Motorcycles, mountains, twisty roads, good friends, and some good whiskey to top it all off at the end of the day. It’s days like these that remind us why we do wedding photography, and this adventurous motorcycle wedding was amazing!
