Kelsey & Jeremy Meyer 4.10.21

Kelsey and Jeremy decided on the increasingly popular barn style wedding. It’s no surprise that barn weddings are a popular choice for couples looking to tie the knot. Converted barns typically have lots of room for ceremonies and receptions all wrapped up under one weatherproof rustic package. So you can have a rocking wedding inside and not have to stress about the whims of mother nature on your big day. On top of that these venues are often located on beautiful plots of land with plenty of potential for creating great photography.

For just about everyone, a wedding means being surrounded by your friends and family. We’ve seen our fair share of beautiful weddings with happy couples surrounded by their closest friends and family. Jeremy and Kelsey were no exception and had a group of friends that seemed to go way back on each side. A wedding is so often a melding of deep and interesting pasts. We were honored to be invited to capture this extra special moment in their lives. Everyone at their wedding was one of those people you meet that you feel like you’ve known for a decade.

Kelsey and Jeremy had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the afternoon and the weather was warm and gorgeous. The light was perfect by the time we stole them away for a few photos. The light fell through the Tennessee trees on the freshly dubbed Meyers perfectly so it didn’t take long to get all we needed.

If you’re planning to throw one party to rule them all like the Meyers did on their wedding night, a similar venue may be the pick for you. The Gathering Barn at Liberty Grace, in particular, had plenty of space for changing areas for the bride and groom in the form of a barn loft and a tiny cabin for the ladies in our case. They also had a dining hall, bar and bartender, DJ, and most importantly, a great area to dance!

Before the party could commence though we stole the bride and groom away for some impromptu sunset photos. We thought a sunset bottle of champagne would be fun. The Meyers agreed. The sufficiently shaken bottle made for excellent photos! The low hanging sun cast golden light through the airborne fizzy drink perfectly.

We develop a connection with the bride, groom and their guests at almost every wedding, it’s part of the job if you ask us, but the Meyers seemed different somehow. They felt like friends from way back right away. It was easy to jump right in and start taking great photos. It was one of those weddings where you feel more like a guest more than someone who was there to work.
